BeamNG PS5 Performance and PS5 Pro

Last verified: October 24, 2026. Games Press — BeamNG.drive launches on PlayStation 5, 19 October 2026

BeamNG confirms FSR 3 on base PS5 and PSSR on PS5 Pro. Playfront’s 6 October 2026 preview reports 1440p internal resolution, 4K PSSR output, and stable 60 fps on Pro. This is not an official frame-rate guarantee. The v0.40 devblog documents warnings below 25 fps; install size remains unverified.

No independent PS5 frame-rate or frame-time benchmark was performed for this guide. Official sources confirm the upscalers and the low-performance notification. Pixel counts and the 60 fps observation are attributed to Playfront’s dated PS5 Pro preview, not presented as guaranteed specifications.

What has BeamNG said about resolution and frame rate?

The 19 October press release states FSR 3 on base PS5 and PSSR on PS5 Pro, while the store adds the PS5 Pro Enhanced label. Playfront’s 6 October preview reports 1440p internal resolution and stable 60 fps on Pro. The preview is not evidence of a developer-promised target, a locked frame rate, or the same result on base PS5.

The v0.40 devblog says the game warns when FPS stays below 25 in freeroam or split-screen, and when you spawn another vehicle while the game is already struggling. That warning is the most useful official performance sentence I have.

What should I lower first, and how big is the install?

As general troubleshooting, reduce the number of active vehicles if the game warns about low performance; this is not a measured PS5 benchmark or a verified traffic-slider recipe. Driven and CGMagazine describe visual pop-in or menu problems in their PS5 reviews. The shared known-issues page’s minimap warning mentions PC BeamMP use and does not establish a PS5-specific fix.

I am not printing an install size. The only gigabyte figure I found was on a page that also got the price wrong. Neither the store nor BeamNG’s notes I read state a size. Look at the console’s storage screen if you need the number for your drive.

Questions

Is BeamNG 30 fps on PS5?

Playfront reports stable 60 fps on PS5 Pro in its 6 October preview. That does not establish a universal cap or guarantee. No first-party 30 fps mode is verified here.

What does PS5 Pro add?

PSSR upscaling and the PS5 Pro Enhanced label. A preview describes 1440p internal to 4K. That is not a promise from the press release’s wording, which names PSSR without the pixel counts.

How big is the download?

Not published in the sources I checked on 24 October 2026.

Does disabling the minimap fix PS5 performance?

No PS5-specific result is verified here. The shared issue mentions BeamMP on PC; do not treat it as a tested console fix.

Is there a performance or quality toggle?

I have not found one documented. I will not invent a menu path.

Does it support 120 Hz?

Unknown. I have no first-party line on 120 Hz or VRR.
