The PS5 version has soft-body crashes, Career Mode, scenarios, time trials, freeroam, and local split-screen for up to 4 players. It does not have mods, VR, or an announced online mode.
Stock customisation and mods are different features. BeamNG’s launch materials describe changing vehicle components; the announcement separately excludes mods at launch. This distinction is source-based, not a claimed test of the console’s parts menu.
Which features shipped?
The matrix uses the store listing, the v0.40 devblog, and the 19 October press release. The press release says mod authoring tools are not currently planned for PlayStation; it does not promise future World Editor support.

Can I extensively modify cars without mods?
Yes, inside the parts, tuning, and paint tools the store describes. Stock customisation is not the same as importing a new vehicle or part from the PC mod repository. Mods, including anything from the PC repo, are a separate no.
Trains are not a mode I can cite from the PS5 notes I read. I am not going to invent a train roster. The documented activities that are real include race, drag, pursuit, derby, drift, rock crawling, and soccer, plus freeroam.

Does the PS5 version have Career Mode?
Yes. The 19 October 2026 press release says Career Mode is on PS5, and v0.40.3 fixed a Career save-progress bug.
How many maps are included?
Marketing and the store say 12 open-world environments. The exact PS5 map roster is not established by subtracting entries from the older shared level documentation.
Are there 17 accessibility options?
The US store listing I read on 24 October 2026 lists 17 accessibility features, including full remapping and toggles for vibration and adaptive triggers.
Does it support a wheel?
The v0.40 devblog lists 11 PS5 wheels with force feedback. Other wheels are untested.
Is VR in the box?
No. BeamNG said VR would not be supported on PS5 at launch.
Is online play a feature yet?
It is not announced. Local split-screen is the multiplayer that exists.
