DualSense and 11 wheels
BeamNG PS5 Controls and Wheel Settings
Last verified: October 24, 2026. BeamNG — v0.40 devblog, 19 October 2026
BeamNG.drive on PS5 supports full controller remapping, stick sensitivity, and inversion. The v0.40 devblog lists 11 wheels with force feedback. Other wheels are untested and may not work correctly. PC controller-driver workarounds are not PS5 console instructions.
| Controller settings | Full remapping, stick sensitivity, and inversion |
|---|---|
| Force-feedback wheels | 11 models listed in the official v0.40 devblog |
| Other wheels | Untested; correct operation is not guaranteed |
| DualSense | Vibration and trigger effects listed by the store |

The wheel list is BeamNG’s official v0.40 list, not an independent test of every device. The trigger-linearity change is documented by the developer. No measured deadzones, default button map, or hands-on feel comparison is claimed here.
Which wheels does PS5 support?
These model names follow the official v0.40 devblog. BeamNG says other PS5 wheels have not been tested yet and may or may not work correctly. Match the PlayStation-compatible variant, not just the manufacturer or product family.

How do I change force feedback and triggers?
The PS5-tagged v0.40.2 note gives this path: Options > Controls > FFB, select the steering binding, then adjust Strength. That patch added handbrake support for Logitech RS50 and PRO on PS5, increased the available Thrustmaster force-feedback range by 33 percent, and fixed swapped throttle and clutch pedals on the T598. If you previously swapped those assignments yourself, the note says to restore their correct order.
v0.40 rebalanced gamepad throttle and brake trigger linearity. The store lists DualSense vibration and trigger effects, with accessibility options to disable them. Neither source supplies measured deadzones or a default PS5 button diagram, so no numerical tuning preset is claimed here.
The shared known-issues page mixes platforms. Its G HUB, Steam Input, PC-mode wheel, and PlayStation-controller system-button advice must not be copied into PS5 console troubleshooting. In particular, G HUB is PC software, not a PS5 installation step. The shared system-button entry alone does not establish a fault in the native PS5 game.

Questions
My controller is not working. Where should I start?
Check that the controller works in the PS5 system menu and review the game’s remapping settings. This is a basic isolation check, not a verified fix for a particular bug. Do not install PC drivers or enable Steam Input on a PS5.
Do adaptive triggers work?
The store lists a trigger effect. You can disable it in the accessibility options.
Is my wheel on the list?
Only the 11 names above are tested. Anything else is untested.
Where is force feedback strength?
The v0.40.2 PS5 note gives Options > Controls > FFB > select the steering binding > Strength.
Did a patch fix wheel bugs?
v0.40.2 on 22 October 2026 fixed RS50 and G Pro handbrake support, Thrustmaster range, and the T598 pedal swap.
Can I use a wheel and a pad together?
Split-screen assigns devices per player. I do not have a first-party matrix of every wheel-plus-pad pair, so I will not claim every combination.
